Delete your account

Last updated: September 29, 2026 · Android and iOS

In the app

  1. From the main camera screen, tap the Settings gear.
  2. In Account, tap Delete account & data in its separate row below the backup card.
  3. Read the confirmation, type DELETE, then tap Delete it all.

Deletion starts after confirmation and needs a connection. Wait for the app to finish; if it reports a failure, check your connection and try again. Apple-linked accounts may ask you to confirm Sign in with Apple as part of the process.

This deletes the account currently in use. To delete a previously backed-up account, sign in to it first. Deleting this phone's anonymous account does not delete a different linked account.

By email

Can't reach the app, or already uninstalled it? Request account deletion by email at contact@elfarabey.com. Use the address linked to your account, or provide details that help us identify an anonymous account. We may need to verify ownership. We handle deletion requests within 30 days.

Subscriptions and purchases

Deleting your account or uninstalling CardSum does not cancel an active subscription. To stop future renewals, cancel in Apple's subscription settings or Google Play subscriptions. Pro users can also open Settings → Your plan → Manage subscription in CardSum before deleting their account. Account deletion does not request a refund; the store's refund policies apply.

What account deletion removes

Account deletion summary
Account & sign-in identity (incl. Google/Apple/email links) removed
Saved cards, named collections, memberships & account backup removed
Scan usage history removed
CardSum's account-linked purchase-event records removed
Local card images & app preferences on this device cleared
Analytics & billing identity on this device reset

Account deletion cannot be undone. Scan photos are processed for identification and are not stored on our servers after the scan; the locally saved card images are cleared from the device performing deletion.

Records outside this deletion

The in-app reset does not itself erase historical analytics or subscription-provider records. Use the email above for requests concerning those records; we handle them through support within 30 days, subject to verifying the account and any required retention. App stores manage their own transaction records. Crashlytics diagnostic reports are not tied to your account and follow Firebase's retention process, which starts removing them after 90 days. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Removing a collection instead

Deleting a named collection or removing a card from it keeps the card in All cards and any other collections. Remove from Box removes a saved card from the library. These actions do not delete your account or cancel a subscription.
